Network Devices Audit for Compliance Purpose

Hello Experts,
I am looking for free or open source to perform security audit on our Cisco Switches, Routers and Firewalls because  I want to know the vulnerbilty and security holes in these network devices

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Hi,
you could use openvas http://www.openvas.org .
I used to make comparison with nessus and nipper and I found it compleate.

You have a good summary of the means and tools though maybe past dated. Nmap is quite versatile and goid as the first starter to scan for low janging fruits like open port services, weak settings etc. Tcpdump is another good mentioned though it may needa more in depth understanding of the packet like knowing where to check the TLS cipher, etc. There is also the Metasploit for exploring too but that will be on later stage once you gather some fingerprint on the device profile..
