Windows 2016 NIC card suggestions

I have a Windows 2016 Standard server defined in a VM under vSphere Esxi 6.0.0,  It appears to be having issues with the NIC card (E1000) per below:

The network interface "Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Network Connection" has begun resetting.  There will be a momentary disruption in network connectivity while the hardware resets.
Reason: The network driver detected that its hardware has stopped responding to commands.
This network interface has reset 1447 time(s) since it was last initialized.

Is there a different one I should be using for this OS?  It had shut it down completely over night.

Install the VMWare tools and change the NIC to VMXNET3. try this and let us know
choosing vmxnet3 NIC instead of the Intel should eliminate the problem.

Hope that helps,

You should not really use the E1000 driver for production only installation.

The VMXNET3 driver is fully virtualized and vSphere aware.

The E1000 is not intended for  general use.
