I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

That's most likely the "layout" box. If you used the wizards to create the form, Access uses those when creating the form.

They can b useful in some cases, but for the most part you want to remove them. To do that

1. Make sure you're in Design view
2. Click on one of the objects in the layout
3. Click the plus sign (+) in the upper left corner (see image below)
4. In the "Form Design Tools" ribbon section, select the Arrange tab
4. In the Table section, click "Remove Layout"
