Quckbooks point of sale cannot access RDS Client on server

My son is the parts man for a small business and they are using quickbooks point of sale at the counter and then in the office there secretary is using quickbooks pro.  At the end of the day my son sends the end-of -day report to the office for the secretary to do the report and to get deposits ready.  in order for them to do this they need to open up RDS Server so that they can successfully transfer the data into quickbooks pro at the office.  It was working fine until the other day when it suddenly stopped working for them.  When they attempt to send data they get this error: "C:\ProgramData\RDSClient\v6\RDSClient.dat is denied"

It was working fine until the other day when it suddenly stopped working for them.

1. Restart all computers and try again.
2. Look for Firewall or other setting changes on both ends.
3. Find the Intuit Network diagnostic tool (you want the most recent one) and run that to point out firewall, antivirus or other blocks affecting the connection.
4. Repair or Reinstall QB POS (that seems to be the problem device).
Ok.  I remotely accessed their computer in the office and the first thing we tried was to back up the quickbooks data. and we are having a very difficult time.  Through the process of backing up, quickbooks claimed that the files needed to be repaired and it is still trying to back up. seems to be stuck at 99%. it has been trying to back up now for at least 45 minutes.   I am getting highly suspicious of a hard drive starting to fail which could possibly be the root issue.  What do you think?

My son told me that the computer performance and been on an decline lately.  He said that it seems to have been running slower and slower.
We are running chkdsk now
Quickbooks finally did successfully back up the file and then it generated a log.  attached is a list of errors that it could not fix.

The concern about hardware issues remains.  Make sure you have good backups and reinstall QB POS as one of the steps outlined above.
Here is the result of the chkdsk

Thanks.  If the system is being used properly (often is within a business) then investigate "slower and slower".

1. Run Disk Cleanup.  Modern systems normally do not suffer greatly from disk fragmentation but you can try this.
2. Run the Manufacturer's hardware test diagnostics.
thanks for helping me with this issue.  We decided to replace the drive and and go from there.  when we attempted to run the disk cleaning tool it could not even get through that.  We finally just shut down the computer.  Again, thanks
You are very welcome and thank you for the update. Good luck with the new drive.
