How to resolve issues with the install for the printer driver HP_LJ_Pro_M452

We are trying to install the  printer driver HP_LJ_Pro_M452-Full_Solution_17062.exe for an HP Color LaserJet Pro M452 series printer on Windows 7 and get the error seen in the attached pdf. I have included a few other details in that pdf. The driver fails on error that a problem occurred...try to reboot...but nothing resolves the issue. The same error occurs on Windows 8.0 & 8.1 when attempting to install the driver. We have attempted to get HP to support us, but no luck so far.

Any ideas on what we can do next? Is there an alternate driver that would provide full functionality to this printer? Thanks.hp-printer-driver-issue.pdf

Find the Basic driver for the printer on the HP Site. Download that.

On one or both computers, remove the Printer, then remove the Driver in Printer Server Management.

Restart and install the basic driver.  That works for me - does it work for you?

This is a solution that we did not try. I will not be able to test until Monday. After testing, I can then provide feedback. I will update this request after the test.

Hello Team. Thanks for waiting. We still get the same error with the basic driver. However, Since we found an installer with driver only, we are waiting for access to the production PC for testing and will provide status once that has been tested. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Once we gained access to the local machine and replaced the hard drive, the driver was successfully installed and the printer functions normally. Thank you for your assistance.
