Unable to access Exchange 2010 public folders from Exchange 2016 mailboxes

I'm unable to access Exchange 2010 public folders from Exchange 2016 mailboxes in one of our sites.

I followed this article and 2 of the 3 sites are OK. 1 site is having the below problem. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn690134(v=exchg.150).aspx

When browsing public folders from Outlook within the problem site, I'm prompted to enter credentials and receive the following error message: "There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The name on the certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site webmail.domain.com . Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server. (Error code 0)"

Has anyone seen this before?

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hello

There are 3 Methods

1: Examine the certificate.

2: Install the trusted root certificate.

3: Disable the third-party add-in or the third-party browser add-in.

If site name is different to SSL cert, you may stop outlook to check cert.

Actually just discovered I'm only seeing this problem with Outlook 2010/Exchange 2016 mailbox/Exchange 2010 public folders.  Outlook 2016 is fine.

Have you verified if the outlook 2010 connection from that site is MAPI or RPC/ HTTP?

DO you have necessary KB installed for outlook 2010 to support MAPI?

When that pop-up comes up, can you run connection status? What is the status of PF at that time?

The Outlook Provider config needed to be removed and Outlook Anywhere needed to be enabled on all 2010 CAS servers.  Thanks for your help!
