WSUS reports

WSUS reports

At the moment we use WSUS for our Microsoft updates. The servers  are set just  to download updates and notify. The servers are not listed in the WSUS console . I gave an auditor a report of all computers in the WSUS console and she asked me why the servers were not listed. I told her they do not report to WSUS and she told me there is still a way to get a report for them out of WSUS

Any ideas?

A common setup is to have the servers in their own group, with their own GPO. Generally, for servers, this is set to "Auto download and notify for install", rather than "Auto download and schedule the install", which is typical for clients.  Don't really want servers rebooting themselves.

That way, an icon will show in the taskbar of servers when patches are required, admins can manually schedule the install when they want.  Servers will of course show in WSUS that way.
