Error - Installing Exchange Management Tools on WIN 10 - "AD Doesn't Exist or Can't Be Contacted"

Error when trying to install Exchange Management Tools on Windows 10.
What do I need to do to fix and get past this step?

I am doing this at my work, on my company network. I can get and see Active Directory
just fine with "Active Directory Users & Computers RSAT Tool(s)"; so there's not lack of AD "connectivity".
Also, I am not the Exchange admin, just the owner of a bunch of DLs I need to manage

The error happens on the "Prerequisite Analysis" step, and I cannot go any further.
(The whole purpose of wanting to install the management tools, is just to get PowerShell modules
to create some scripts):

Is the Windows 10 machine joined to a domain, and signed in with existing  domain credentials, and have Exchange installed in the domain?

If you are not logged into a domain, the mgmt tools will not install.  And if there is no Exchange server on premises in the domain/forest you are logging in to, the mgmt tools will not install.

Yes, all of the above (on the domain, with Exchange, etc. This is at my work)...
