Outlook login popups

Recently our outlook 2013 accounts, keep popping up for password and account login.  We have an internal exchange 2013 server that was updated.  Checked owa settings, verified passwords and reset passwords, new profiles, basic settings.
Just out of ideas and could use some help.

does this happen to every user or certain ones. also is ever user's mailbox on the same version on exchange

Check to make sure the Virtual Directory Authentication settings are at their defaults: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg247612(v=exchg.150).aspx has what they should be.

If that's ok, check the following: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2984912/outlook-continually-prompts-for-your-password-when-you-try-to-connect

If that's ok, check to make certain the Virtual Directory URLs are set to point to a valid URL (All of them)

Let us know if you still have problems after that.

What happens when you attempt to connect via owa, also when did this start. was it after the exchange updates.

started after the windows updates on the exchange server, owa works fine and normal.
outlook asks for password, but exchange says online.  Connected new profile same issue.

I would suggest checking you outlook anywhere settings on the Exchange server and make sure they are set to NTLM.

You are on exchange 2013, HAve you enabled MAPI protocol or stills using rpc/http ?

When pop-up comes up, check where it is connecting. Is it coming for a Public folder or while connecting to mailbox itself?

Try few thing on one of the clients.
1) Point outlook to one server using host file.
2) Reproduce the issue and based on a protocol used, check the log on that server?
3) Do you see any error in logs?
