I have an IBM server x3500 and I have problem at boot with it. When it boot , at the RAID controller init, it Write 'Controller manager initializing...' for 15 minutes and after it write 'Controller manager failed'.
As I saw the controller look like a RAM dimm. The controller is an ATB-200 from Adaptec (FRU:25R8076). As the description from IBM and other sites, it is the whole controller but many told me that is only cache memory.
I already order a new one but I'm not sure it is the problem. When I take it off, the computer does nothing and the diagnostic LED stuck at CPU.
My question is, if the new controller failed, is there any other SAS adapter that I can buy, used or new, to replace my ATB-200 that I can install without delete and reconfigure my existing array? I have a RAID 1 array and a RAID 5 array. Motherboard has pci-e X8 and pci-x connector.
