can exchange 2007 edge transport and exchange 2013 edge transport co-exist ?

I currently have 2 exchange 2007 Edge Transport servers running but need to replace them due to aging HW  and the fact that Microsoft no longer supports Exchange 2007.  So I wanted to know if I have an Exchange 2007 Edge Transport and Exchange 2013 Sp1 Edge Transport server working concurrently until i replace both legacy exchange servers?

Hi Shiva,

Yes Exchange 2013 adn Exchange 2007 can coexist

If you want to create an EdgeSync Subscription between an Exchange 2007 Hub Transport server and an Exchange 2013 SP1 Edge Transport server, you need to install Exchange 2007 SP3 Update Rollup 13 or later on the Exchange 2007 Hub Transport server.

I just found this article which seems to indicate that 2 edge transport servers that are different version different versions(2007/2013) can co-exist. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn151300%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
