Terminal Server can't connect to Print Server

I've got a terminal server that suddenly lost all it printers.  Stopped/restarted the spooler, no luck.  Rebooted the server, no luck.
When I go to add printers I get the error:
Windows cannot connect to the printer.  The specified port is unknown.
I can browse to the print server and see the printers, but not install them.
I've done all the "fixes" I've read online with no luck.
Terminal server OS is Server 2012 R2 (VM).
Print server OS is Server 2012 (VM).
I'd rather not restore the VM, but I'm almost ready to do that.

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Can you confirm the the print spooler is running?  There is an issue that will cause the spooler to crash and all the printers will disappear.

Yep, it's running.  That's the first thing I've checked nearly every time.

I did a quick restore of the VM server, I'll see if that solves it.

That took care of it.
