SSIS upgrade from 2008 to 2016 SP1

Could you please mention how you upgrade packages??
It will help us to identify the issues.

I tired the same process. I developed integration package in SSDT 2008 with script task. It worked fine.

Than directly add that package to new solution created in SSDT2015. It asked for permission to upgrade once i grant a permission, it was done.

And tested the execution as well, its working fine.

I have package developed in BIDS 2008

I created new project/solution in VS 2015 and added  dstx file created in 2008

I get Warning:
"Found SQL Server Integration Services 2008 Script Task "ST_guidnumber" that requires migration"

After I go inside script task it is empty
