What does this link have to do with provisioning - This is new beyond regedit?

Recently I checked out a support web site but unfortunately it was unintelligible Here is the content:
Lid open wake action

I would almost assume this was a registry Tweak but not what I recognize. Did Microsoft change this up
What does this have to do with provisioning tools??

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

That's not a support website. If you look at the section you are in...  "windows hardware/Customize" you'd see this:

Audience
This section of the partner documentation is intended for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), Independent Hardware Vendors (IHVs), system builders, mobile operators, and IT administrators.

You are in a section for OEMs, and yes, they provision OS features based on their hardware. It is usually more than a regedit as it requires hardware level support.

That may be but the Microsoft support guy suggested I check that for setting special open lid features. It seems obvious to me but
the lid open should power up or  wake any laptop by default or there should be such a setting

Funky Microsoft. imagine sending me to an OEM link...!
