Renew IP Addresses Remotly

DHCP Lease Update

I have inherited a DHCP server that has assigned clients with a 365 day lease.    As I am changing Internal DNS servers and lease information, I need clients to renew their DHCP lease.

Further, I wish to perform this at the OU level or subnet level.

Use GPO to push the script to selected machines.
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

If you push this with a stateful connection run this
ipconfig /release && ipconfig /renew

I will try this now ipconfig /release && ipconfig /renew
Is there a reason for the long lease duration? I don't think I've ever seen anything even close to 365 days in all my years in this line of work. If your clients don't come and go a lot, I suppose it wouldn't cause a problem, but if (for example) you've got mobile devices leasing addresses from that same scope, it's going to fill up pretty quickly unless there are other mechanisms in place to prevent that.
