How to multiple edit Excel file in SharePoint 2016?

I have installed our SharePoint system for store documents, but with Excel file I have got issue:

- When an user open Excel file with Microsoft Excel from SharePoint, the file will be locked and other users can read only. How I can configure my SharePoint for multi users can edit Excel file in SharePoint? In old system, we used Share Folder and we can share Workbook for multi edit, but when we migrate it to SharePoint, this function cannot work.

My system: Microsoft SharePoint 2016 (Enterprise), Microsoft Excel 2016.

Could you please help me about this issue?

Co-editing should work if Check Out is not required on the library holding the Excel.

In 2016 I've seen it where you need to click to edit the Excel otherwise it opens Read Only.

For really good co-editing results in 2016 you can use Office Online Server. Are you getting previews of documents before opening them? That would indicate that has been installed.
