Is outlook 2016 compatible with exchange 2013 after migrating to O365

We have exchange 2007 and we are planning  to migrate to office 365. The implementation company says that we need to install exchange 2013 for the Hybrid deployment.
We have 200 desktops and will it be a good idea installing outlook 2016 on the PC and laptops and will outlook 2016 be compatible with exchange 2016?
Or do need to set up with O365 web access?

Outlook 2016 is compatible with Exchange 2013/2016, and off course with Office 365 (Exchange Online).

One thing to keep in mind is that Exchange 2007 is NOT compatible with Outlook 2016, so when you deploy it, it will not be able to connect to your exchange. That may be a problem. On the other hand, Outlook 2013 is compatible with both Exchange 2007 and Office 365.

Ok after migrating all the mail boxes from exchange 2007 to O365 and after decommissioning exchange 2007 and then deploy outlook 2016 will this work.

Yes that will work but I would suggest upgrading the outlook client first, so that after migration the user will be able to connect to their mailbox in o365. if you migrate first without upgrading outlook there will be that downtime for the end user until you can update outlook. They can use OWA after the migration until you upgrade outlook if you choose.

Yes, outlook 2016 compatible with exchange 2013 after migrating to O365. Stellar EDB to PST Converter helps users to migrate from exchange 2007 to office 365. You can migrate multiple mailboxes to Office 365 at the same time. Download free demo version from here:
