Drive 'predictive failure' (Amber flashing light) ProLIant DL380p G8 - How to replace?

We have an HP DL380p G8 with a 5 disk (5x300GB SAS) RAID that is showing one drive as 'predictive failure' with AMBER light flashing on that drive. The Array configuration utility (see screenshots) confirm this is the case. Now most drives I have to swap out are usually failed (solid AMBER light) and I can thus hot swap them whilst the server is running. Can I actually hot swap this one even though it has not failed yet or do I need to shut down to do it or mark it offline/disable in the array? A replacement drive is on its way.

The moment you take out the old drive it will be marked as Failed anyway... so then you can insert the replacement in the empty slot.
