Compare 2 sheets and identify data

I have a little issue in Excel and hope someone has a pointer for me.

Basically, I have a customer database that has names, emails, etc. secondly I have a second excel that only has emails in of customers that opted out. What I try to do is to either compare the 2 and identify the cells that are in the customer list where the email cell matches the email in the "op out" file.

I would appreciate any assistance on this.

Best wishes,

Sounds like the case for a simple VLOOKUP formula.

Full file, email in column E
Opt Out file, email in sheet1, column A

Formula in full file, starting in row 2:
=IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(E2,[Opt out.xlsx]Sheet1!$A:$A,1,FALSE)),"","Opt Out")

This says look for an exact match of the email in E2 in column A of sheet1, if an error (ie not found) result is "" (blank) otherwise put "Opt Out".
