How can I password protect a folder on a Windows 7 Pro computer?

It depends on what you're trying to accomplish.  If you really want to have it password protected then VeraCrypt is the answer and although it doesn't look appealing or user friendly it is pretty straight forward.

To set the security permissions, right click on the folder and select properties.  Select the security tab to which it will show the users that have access.  Edit the list to add or remove users.

Is this system in a local workgroup or is it an AD attached system?  That will make a difference.  Also any administrator level user can take ownership of the folder and gain access to it.  With VeraCrypt that's not possible.  Well maybe to take ownership but no ability to open it without VeraCrypt.

The only other way I can think of is to set folder permissions explicitly for a single user.
