Shoretel 14.2 upgrade to Connect?

Hi
We're being told that shoretel 14.2 will be EoL in the near future.  We're also being told that we will have to pay for the upgrade to connect.  Is this correct?  We have maintenance with shoretel and the supplier...
Also what issues are people experiencing with it?  I read that new communicator is pants..?
Thanks

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You licenses you already own will transfer over. A few pieces of certain equipment are eol but will still work - just means no more firmware updates.

Is it a free upgrade though?

Still appears to be a chargeable exercise to upgrade this which is rather annoying given the support charges we already pay.
