cannot print at times - print spooler

Sometimes on my computer (windows 7 pr) I cannot print.  I stop the print spooler and then restart it and all is well for awhile.  I do this about 10 times a day.  Any ideas?

Nearly all spooler issues are caused by faulty drivers. One corrupt driver may cause spooler problems, which can then affect all other printers as well.

If you don't know which printer is causing the problem, try reinstalling them one at a time - or all at once.

I would try to completely reinstall the driver.

First go to Devices and Printers, and delete the printer. Then go to Control Panel Add/remove programs and, if the printer shows in the list, uninstall it. Now go back to Devices and Printers and click on any other printer driver. Click on "Print server properties" in the menu that appears at the top. Click the Drivers tab and remove any instances of the printer from the list. Then reinstall from the CD or a downloaded copy.

I've given you complete instructions that should work for just about any printer. With most models you can skip the Control Panel part, but I have included it for generality.

you can also run sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt

why would uninstalling the printer help if this is happening on a computer with multiple printers?  I didn't tell you that up front.

Thanks for the points, mkramer777, but did that actually fix your  problem?
