OnePlus 5 Android cell phone does not sync contacts with my 2016 Prius 2

OnePlus 5 Android cell phone does not sync with my 2016 Prius 2. The bluetooth (phone and audio) connection works, but it is hard to dial out from the car because no contacts are transferred. There are over 500 contacts in the phone's contact app, and when I try to manually update to the car, the process crashes with an error message (generic, not meaningful) at about record 100.

Anyone have any ideas?

You need to contact Toyota as your phone is not compatible with the Bluetooth connect system of your car. OnePlus is not a compatible brand with your car.

There is no workaround as the feature for linking the phone and the car is pre-coded in the Bluetooth connect system of your car.

Thanks, Jackie. I think I saw some people say that they were able to replace a component of Bluetooth in some phones, to overcome problems such as this?

I will be interested to know but I am afraid that the Bluetooth component of a smartphone is not user replaceable as you will only damage the motherboard of your phone if you try to do so.

Have you tried to connect your phone to your car audio using USB cable?

The audio connects and so do phone calls. But contacts, favorites, and calling history do not transfer. If I try to manually update the contacts, they start to transfer and crash at about 100 contacts. Due to the crash, nothing gets transferred. This lack of contact information makes it hard to make calls, as you can imagine.
