MDT cannot connect to WSUS

I'm trying to connect MDT to WSUS to download Windows updates during the deployment of the Windows 10 image. First, I have configured WSUS to download and approve Windows updates automatically, and then in the Rules list in MDT I have add it the "WSUSServer=http://mywsusserver.com:8530" of WSUS to download the updates from. Also in the task sequence I have enabled (Windows Update Pre-Application Installation) and ( Windows Update Post-Application Installation) but still does not work for me. The task sequence it does show that is trying to connect to WSUS but it cannot download any update. I'm attaching two screen shots regarding this problem. Thank you, and your help will be very much appreciated.

Hello

Do you have cmtrace installed on server?
is that working for windows 7?

Forgot to mention both servers are 2016. In my environment I have only Windows 10. No, I don't have mctrace installed. On which server do you recommend installing the cmtrace?

its cmtrace,
Install on the server which has deployment share,
once you install that start the deployment and open your logs with cmtrace.
do you have the below in properties, if not add these
SLShareDynamicLogging=\\urservername\DeploymentShare$\Logs

I have made the changes suggested and on the logs it shows the same error as on the screenshot that I have attached. Are there other setting in WSUS that needs to configure beside what I have done so far? Things that I did there are enable auto updates and also checked the firewall to see if the default is open. Everything seems fine there just unless I'm missing something.

No i haven't. Is the group policy necessary in this case? I have configured WSUS as stand alone server just to download the updates. My goal is to have WSUS download updates and connect MDT to it so it can deploy the updates whenever I deploy an image. I'm not sure if the group policy is needed for my setup. Because I don't push updates to clients from WSUS.
