excel add-in

hello Experts,

We have a software that add add-in in excel. We were using office 2010.No we upgraded that to office 2016 and the add-in is gone. When we try to add the add-in manually we are getting error Error:1004: Programatic access to visual basic project is not trusted. I am adding the add-in manually. Is there any command or registry hack so that we can make a script to add the add-in. The addin is located in software folder located in c drive.

Regards

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The MSDN support site has this recc for your error:

To enable or disable access to Visual Basic Projects
On the Tools menu in Word or Excel, point to Macro, and then click Security.
In the Security dialog box, click the Trusted Publishers tab.
Select to enable, or clear to disable, Trust Access to Visual Basic Project.
Click OK.

Also, if you are enabling this for all users:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Excel\Security
Value : AccessVBOM
DWORD=1

1: To check the checkbox
0: To uncheck the checkbox

Or use group policy to configure this setting.

If you are enabling it for just the user, replace HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE with HKEY_CURRENT_USER
