Hosts and storage terminology

What would be a good terminology be for your host servers and storage area network? 'Infrastructure' seems quite vague and presumably could include other network equiptment. We want assurances on the documentation of this key area of the network but was after a term that could be used to describe the hosts and storage - any inspiration most welcome.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you are using VMware SRM and two sites you could call it BCP DR Infrastructure

I would refer to it simply as host servers and storage apart from that.

It's Storage Area Neteork or Storage Network for short

Or iSCSI network as opposed to F.C. or NFS

Officially SAN only covers the switches and cables, not the hosts or storage arrays.

How about SAN and SAN attached infrastructure henceforth referred to rather loosely as our SAN ? That would cover the SAN, hosts, storage but not the rest of the network.

We used to use the term "Networked Storage" as a generic term, to cover SAN, NAS and any other storage network you can mention
