Computer Shutdown Software

Looking for recommendations on a software package that can be pushed out to all computers in our school district that will shut down our computers.  If an end user is still using it then they will get a dialog box to postpone shutdown for a period of time.  I know in Windows you can set a shut down task but that would mean I would have to set it up manually on every computer.  We are using Windows 7 Pro and Windows 10 Pro in our district.

Check if Grim Admin's Screen Saver can do what you want.

If you're on a Windows AD domain, you could schedule a bat file to run (on the server with admin privileges) that contains the built-in remote shutdown commands for each PC.

shutdown -s -f -t 0 -m \\computername1
shutdown -s -f -t 0 -m \\computername2
... etc.

With -s meaning shutdown, -f meaning forced, -t meaning timer and 0 meaning zero seconds, and -m meaning target computer.

I don't think it will be an straight forward task no matter which program you install you will have to do some settings manually in each PC, i doubt that there would be any software which can do that out of the box. You will have to change some network settings, open some ports etc.
Unless if you really use an advanced remote control software like logmein.

There is another simple software here, as described in this software below you will have to change settings in the PC that you want to remotely send commands.

You may as well do it as a scheduled task.
You have all management capabilities at hand without external software.
Are you able to write scripts? Deploy a task using GPOs that asks the logged on user how much more time he needs (he enters the amount of minutes). That will trigger another task in x minutes that shuts down the computer.

does anyone have such a script that I can use as a template to deploy via GP?  Where would you put the script in GP to run for all domain computers?
