Accessing Postfix Email From Email Client

OK So I installed Postfix and created a user called JudoOpsec. I sent an email to him at my domain and it didn't' bounce.

I sent another one to asdf at my domain and it bounced.

So I think everything is working.

When I try to use my email client to connect I use which is my mx record for imap. But I don't know what to do for smtp. Do I create another mx record?

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I'm not clear on what you mean by "my mx record for imap".  There is only one MX record per domain; it tells MTAs outside your domain where to send SMTP email.  MX records have no relationship to the imap protocol.  If you have an MX record that points at your incoming MTA server, that's all that is necessary to specify where your incoming MTA can be found.

"In computing, the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) is an Internet standard protocol used by e-mail clients to retrieve e-mail messages from a mail server over a TCP/IP connection."

"The set of MX records of a domain name specifies how email should be routed with the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)."
