CCNA LAN Question

Just a fundamental LAN network questions as I am studying CCNA course

Computer A and B both are connected to a normal L2 switch and turned on. there is no DNS server configured (it shouldn't matter as it is pure L2 connection?)
what are the setups computer A pinging computer B by the name at the very first time? is the switch going to broadcast computerB's mac address? if yes, how would computer A know what is the computer B's mac?
just trying to understand the principle of LAN communication.
It would be great if I can get some articles to read.

Thanks

Nothing, since there is no way to resolve DNS (If static DNS resolution is not provided). Process will fail to resolve hostname to IP address relation.
is the switch going to broadcast computerB's mac address?
No, since IP address will not be resolved in some way (This is purpose of DNS), IP address must be known, otherwise device will not be able to create ARP request.
f yes, how would computer A know what is the computer B's mac?
Name to IP address relationship must be resolved first. MAC address can be resolved by ARP only if IP address of host is known.

Name resolution can be provided statically without DNS server IP address by modifying hosts file (Windows - c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts,;linux - /etc/hosts)
