I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You need to fix your data model. There are no relationships, check and default constraints are also missing. And then you need a transaction table. Then you can calculate your stock amount.

p.s. you don't store passwords. Store a salted hash of it instead.

I'll also suggest to convert your database to accdb instead of mdb.
You'll be able to take adventage of data macros (AKA triggers) wich will help with data integrity.

Well, we're not paid for answering posts and advice.

And your project contains fundamental errors, which must be corrected first. Face it.

And last, but not least:
it's a trial  billing system[..]
What do you expect in such a case?

Mr ste5an..
I did not mean "you"..I've got in touch with Mr Roy Cox and Kyle Abrahms for paid consultants, but had an apology from Mr Cox and no reply from Mr Abrahams..
so it's NOT "you" who is meant by "paid"

Secondly, the code does NOT contain  "fundamental errors" as you said..I've solved the problem already and the whole code works perfectly well..If you wish i may send you a copy of this "fundamental errors" programme..
THirdly, I called it "trial" cause it was an initial step..
Finaly, In a respectful , or supposed to be a respectful site, communication should be different from the way "YOU" are writing..

So..i am sorry if you miscalculated my words and I congratulate this site for having "Senior Developer" as you are..

Fundamental errors are within the database itself.

No Relationship between tables.
No foreign keys.
No data integrity constraints.
No trigger.

Beside the 4th item (triggers), all other are basic database stuffs.
As it stand, your "database" is just an evoluted text file, easy to mess-up and corrupt.

As for passwords, they're stored in clear text. Only the display is replaced by the "*" character, as long as you open the table or query datas within MS-access. Ehence why it is nowhere near secure.
