vCenter Winodws Server IP Change

We are currently running vCenter 5.5 on Windows Server 2012.  We are looking to prepare for upgrading off 5.5 but what to change the IP address.  While we have a few things tat are integrated to vCenter, the question is what are the implications and problems of changing the IP of the vCenter Server VM.

What things need to be address?  Hosts need reconnected, affects of distributed switches?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Serveral items will need to be addressed, DNS, any device that talks vCenter, monitoring apps, VMWare View, Central backup products such as Veeam .  Hosts will need to be reconnected.  Distributed switches will be fine.

did you use FQDN for vCenter Server, and register the correct original IP Address in DNS...

if you did, then an IP Address, change should have zero effect, providing you just change the IP Address of the server, and make sure changes in DNS are done.

If you have been consistent and used the FQDN everywhere!
