Is Calculation Options set to Manual? If yes, set it to Automatic.
Formulas Tab --> Calculation --> Calculation Options --> Choose Automatic

It that's not the case, please let me know where do you double click? In the formula cell itself? What's the formula?

the cells are data type mis-match
means, you should highlight the cells and choose them as numbers not text.

Calculations is set to Automatic. I have tried to highlight cells and re format them.

However I still have to double click in each cell that that the Vlookup  is looking at for the match.
