USB Ports Not Working

Windows 10 machine that is no longer recognizing anything plug into USB.  It just shows them as other devices in device manager.  This all started from unplugging a USB printer, after that, everything went to that mode.  We tried plugging the printer back in, change what ports stuff is plugged into.  Not even the keyboard and mouse will work.  I tried reinstalling the Intel IME and I'm getting an error

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

How did you do this?  RDP in?

Try running DISM:

Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator. Run

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

If DISM fails to correct. try restoring to a Prior point (before attaching the Printer). Restore points are in System Properties.

The answer is probably in this recent EE thread:

Your problem sounds the same or, at least, similar. Regards, Joe
