I was having an issue where I had corrupted files on my Windows Server 2008 r2 which is a hyper v VM. The problem was I was running a check disk from the recovery console and the check disk would not work. <br />
<br />
I decided to boot again to the recovery console but this time using a server 2012 r2 recovery console. I ran check disk and it ran and fixed the errors and I was able to boot fine and all corruption is gone <br />
<br />
My question is if fixing a server 2008 r2 from the recovery console is server 2012 r2 is going to cause other issues<br />
