upgrading a downgraded windows 7 pro computer to windows 10 pro

I purchased a WIndows 7 Pro HP laptop that was downgraded from Windows 10.  I now want to upgrade to windows 10.  Will it be Windows 10 Pro or home?  I found the website from MS where the download file is and it is downloading right now, but how will it know that I want Windows 10 PRO?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If it's Windows 7 Pro you are upgrading, you should get Windows 10 Pro from the installation utility.

You should have a certificate and maybe even a USB Key from the manufacturer. When you upgrade Pro becomes Pro in Windows 10 as noted above, not Home. We did some of these when the machines came with Windows 7 and upgrade rights. We only buy Pro and the upgrade came out as Pro.
