Cannot connect to Windows 2012 R2 VM from windows 7 client computer

Hello,

I would like to ask a question about how to connect Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V (Domain Controller) vm from another windows 7 client computer. Even though I tried to connect from client computer, it can only ping my windows 10 computer which is used to run VM. But cannot connect to Windows 2012 R2 VM.
I would very much appreciate if somebody suggest me for how to connect.

Thanks in advance.

Kyaw, is this a lab environment? I haven't worked in Hyper-V, still it seems some issues around the hyper-v networking, could you please check the below link and cross check with your hyper-v network

i also haven't worked that much with Hyper V but make sure that your VM netork settings are correct. The need to be in the same network. Also we need to know what your goal is? Do you try to ping, do you want a vpn connection? Also as it is an VM environment make sure your firewall is off.

Hi, Raneesh and Marcos Santos,

Thanks for your comments.
Yes. this is a lab environment. My goal is to connect my server VM in Hyper-V via client computers. Actually, I run WIndows 2012 R2 VM which is domain controller. It's already configured active directory and group policy for client computer. But when I tried to connect from client computer (windows 7), I cannot ping and connect to my VM. Even though I can ping to my windows 10 computer which is used as Hyper-V host, I still cannot connect my WIndows 2012 R2 VM.
I already turn off my firewall, but still getting the same result.

on hyper-v host create one virtual switch with connection type as "external network" and select physical NIC of host, also ensure that "allow management network" checkbox is selected
Now go to domain controller VM properties and change NIC to use new external switch created above
provide domain controller IP in same range as physical host (either by dhcp or you can give static)
Now your windows 7 client should be able to connect to DC VM
