After changing certificate cannot setup outlook accounts

Windows 2012
MS Exchange 2013
Had a Certificate everything working great.
Client needed a * certificate for domain and after installing certificate any new user cannot be setup.
Autodiscover does not work and any outlook user that wants to use out of office cannot communicate with the exchange server.

What version of Outlook are they using? What have you already done to troubleshoot the issue?

i tried starting over.  by trying to remove the new certificate and that did not help.  was unable to remove it.

but the microsoft test failed
