PCs Won't Connect to Exchange Unless We Release/Renew their IP
so yesterday we had to reboot our Cisco core switch in the datacenter. Today some users are having email issues where Outlook wont connect to Exchange unless they do a IPCONFIG /RELEASE and reboot their PC. I had my IP set as static and I had to change it to get Outlook to connect. Any ideas? Do I have to restart the rest of our IDF switches (which weren't rebooted but connect back to the core switch in the datacenter). Thanks!

I am not entirely clear.
1. It is a good idea to log off workstations, even restart them, after changing out a core networking component.
2. I hope all these computers are using DHCP and not static IP addressing.

yes they are all DHCP but it seems they have stale connections.
What changes in the IP addressing (use ipconfig /all to view) when you do the ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew commands? As Mahesh mentioned, one wouldn't expect any changes.
