Bluetooth gone on laptop

Customer sent me this and I’m doing homework now on it.

Poss hardware but perhaps not

I need some advice with my Lenovo Thinkpad E560.

The Bluetooth icon has disappeared from the Taskbar and when I go to Settings it says Bluetooth turned off and greyed out with no option to turn it back on.

I went into Lenovo Solution Centre and followed the steps to uninstall the driver in Device Manager but the Bluetooth icon has also gone from there and from the Action Centre on Notification panel.

Is there any simple solution or will I need to have the ThinkPad left in?  I see the warranty has just expired. Lenovo and Windows 10 drivers are up to date.  Can’t be sure but it may have occurred after a recent Lenovo update.

Also FN keys plus the any but +F5 linked Wifi I think.
Usually in modern computer bluetooth is built in the WiFi card.
for you laptop, these are BT drivers

also Intel(R) Wireless Software for Bluetooth(R) Technology https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/r00bi07w.exe
That happened on my ThinkPad X230 and I had to replace the Bluetooth daughter card.

If the Bluetooth device is not in Device Manager and does not come back to Device Manager after shut down / start up then it is probably defective.

Restore the PC to the state before that problem with system restore :

Open the Start menu and click on the Power button.
while keeping the Shift key pressed, click on Restart.
Windows 10 reboots and asks you to select an option. Choose Troubleshoot.
From the Troubleshoot screen, select Advanced options.
On the Advanced options screen, choose System Restore,  select a date.
Check if the drivers are corrupt or

1. Click Start.

2. Click the Settings gear icon.

3. Click Devices. This will open the Bluetooth & Other Devices window

4. At the right of this window, click More Bluetooth Options. This will open the Bluetooth Settings window.

5. Under the Options tab, place a check in the box next to Show the Bluetooth icon in the notification area.

6. Click OK and restart Windows. The icon should reappear the next time you log in.
