Scanner out of alighnment

I use a Epson WF 7620 printer. When I scan a document (8x11) , I usually save for printing. When I go to print, the printer program is showing the document as being 8.3x11.7 size. That being said ,when i print im getting lines, the print is smaller, this is frustrating if im printing scanned forms.I see the lines in the print preview.test120180223.pdfThe copy isnt the same size as the original because of the lines that appear. Could the issue be that the AFD is out of "timing" with the scanner? Could it be the scanner is out of alighnment. If so can these things be adjusted? I include a picture of a scanned test sheet that shows the lines. I also noticed that the documents arent feeding into the scanner "square", they are always a little crooked.

As you're seeing the lines when scanning from the ADF, you need to clean the ADF scanning window. That window is not the big glass platen, it is the little glass strip next to it, to the left of the platen when looking from the front of the printer. You'll probably see some minor spots of dirt on it. Clean it with an alcohol soaked, lint-free tissue.

As for the document feeding crooked, that can be caused by a number of things, starting with dirty feed rollers. These can also be cleaned with alcohol. It is also possible that the guides on the side of the document are not fully adjusted against the paper. Finally, it can be caused by documents that have tears, folds, wrinkles or are generally dirty. Like a printer, an ADF works best with new, clean paper.

Thanks hd for your input. I think its more than dirty glass. Doesnt explain why print is in slightly differnt locations. Its seems like it starts to scan before the feed starts. Lay the original and copy next to eachother and the print is higher on the copy. Like i said before its not detecting the proper size of the document. Thats why i think its a timing issue or a mechanical alighnment issue.
Start by cleaning the scanner strip. When you've done that we'll see what else is wrong.
you may need to clean the rollers too
and how much smaller is the print?
With very few exceptions, printers always have some margin (5 mm or more) within which they will not print. The scanner does not have that limitation; it can scan a full A4/Letter or bigger. If you scan a document to a file and then print that file, the application and driver will normally print the file within the printer's margins - which makes the printed result smaller than the original. If the margins are 5 mm, then the print will be 10 mm shorter than the original.

I also note you state your scanned document is 8.5 x 11 (Letter), but the software shows it as being 8.3 x 11.7 - which is larger than the original. Yet you claim the print is smaller. Am I missing something here?
8.3 <8.5  maybe?
@nobus 11.7 > 11
i saw that - but 8.3 is smaller no ? so what would we call it - smaller or not?  depends on what he gets, or wants imo
The point is, it doesn't fit on the paper.

Dave, have you cleaned the scanner window yet?

Cleaned the glass. Glass seams to be etched/scratched somewhat by the rollers i assume.
Time for a new printer maybe.
Thanks everyone for the help.
So it was the scanner glass. As to what caused the scratches, that is impossible to tell. With most scanners there are no rollers touching the scan window.

The Epson WF 7620 is an excellent, still-current printer. And there are not that many low-cost A3/Tabloid colour printers around. You may want to call Epson to see how much it will cost to replace the window.
