Can Python do a decent game GUI?

Considering the RTS project many of you helped me complete,

Java had no problem being an abstract base class client engine,
and the JFrame was smooth.
Will a Python GUI do adequately with a client engine abc ? The abstract method can update a GUI's objects. Will I need to do double buffering on a GUI?
Could I make a Python effort approach  League of Legends quality? I'm keeping the server in Java, but the client abc will be ported to Python.

It depends on what type of game you want to develop is it 3d or 2d or simple?

PyOpenGL & PyGame
Panda3D is good tool to use with Python scripts

Refer : https://pypi.python.org/pypi/Pygame/1.9.2

I wrote a very specific new question on how to achieve a 3D feel in Python

beavoidAuthor Commented:
Python isn't a strong compiled language, not intended for heavy projects, like pro games
But, it is the language being taught at MIT and other schools, instead of Java

I found this youtube of an adequate 2D game. Crappy game, but still something

It looks like it does transparent 2D GIF's and could handle an acceptable game-speed

Ganesh Kumar gave a good answer to the question, the fact that the author wanted to ask something else and submitted a different question doesn't invalidate the content of this one.
