Installing Vmware vCSA.

Installing Vmware vCSA.

I have done some reading about installing vCSA. Well, If I understood I  can install it in windows client (Windows 7 , WIndows 8, 10,etc...). well what I do not understand after you install the plug-in , let's  say in windows 7, then you run vCSA-Setup.html and you go through the wizard. At the end , are you going to end up deploying a new VM on the ESX Host you specified in the Wizard ?

Any clarification will be appreciated.

Thank you

Any Windows OS, which is supported for deployment

Correct a Virtual Machine = Appliance is deployed to the ESXi host you specify.

See my EE Article, step by step tutorial with screenshots

HOW TO: Deploy and Install the VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 (VCSA 6.5)

Please note, and before you deploy, get a static IP Address, chose a hostname, and register a FQDN in your DNS, otherwise Installation will fail!

Andrew,

when you are done with the installation wizard, this will create new VM in the specified ESX Host, which will be the vCSA?
I mean you do not have to create empty VM in ESX host then you deploy to it vCSA ?

Just follow the wizard, there is nothing for you to do, in terms of creating an empty VM, it does it all for you.

You will notice if you watch the Inventory, as your run the installer, it will create the VM, and Power it on, and later it will start to be configured.
