What is the cost per page for color laser?

What is rough cost per page to print with this printer:

For color

and for Black and white?

I just paid up to $1.79 pp at a copy shop I will not mention and NEED another solution.

I need a portable color laser and might as well make it all-in-one.

Any better options?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

On my HP 8610 (neither new nor portable), black ink is about 1 cent per page average. Color is about 5 cents a page (maybe 6). Paper is 1 cent per page.

So if I print 75 % black and 25% color, then my cost is 1 cent for paper, 0.75 cent for black and 1.25 cent for color for a total of 3 cents per printed page.

The only portable printer I know is the HP 250 color portable. My guess is the cost per page is double maybe triple, so 10 cents a page.

I hope this helps.

Wow! Cheap printouts!

Yes, a set of cartridges goes a couple of thousand pages.  The portable will be (as I noted) double the price or so, but less than a copy shop.

As far as portable goes, I have plenty of room in my trunk! I prefer color laser and not inkjet and work the whole week out of state.

How is that printer I posted?
JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
If you have the room as you said, the printer you posted is fine and will work for you.  Good luck with it.
