Memory configuration on an HP Proliant DL380e Gen 8
Hello,
I have HP Proliant DL380e Gen 8 server which has 2 processors and 32GB RAM ,current configuration as in attached picture
now I want to add additional 8GB RAM ,but i do not in which slot ,any idea please ?
note :Windows Server 2012 Standard installed on that server .

I just configured a 380 Gen 7. with this..

HPE servers often change configuration... sometimes several revision in the same generation..

Rule 1 is same amount of RAM on each CPU, adding just one DIMM will break that rule and you may get messages about performance being reduced from the OS and applications that are NUMA aware.
He could add 2 4GB DIMMs, one for each CPU - he would still add the 8 GB he wanted, without breaking the memory config
But they say "slot", not "slots" in the question.
It's already mismatched across the CPUs by the looks of it though as there's only 1 DIMM on CPU2 and there's nothing in A1 or B1 which are the first that should be populated from their screenshot. https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=mmr_kc-0109346 has the slot layout and rules.
