If it's set for Users you can find it under
there you find an entry for the Zonemapping. Zonemappings are
0 - local PC
1 - Intranet
2 - Trusted Sites
3 - Internet
4 - restricted Sites
e.g.
means:
http://www.google.de is in "Trusted Sites"
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\
there you find an entry for the Zonemapping. Zonemappings are
0 - local PC
1 - Intranet
2 - Trusted Sites
3 - Internet
4 - restricted Sites
e.g.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\google.de\www]
"http"=dword:00000002
means:
http://www.google.de is in "Trusted Sites"

What am I missing here? I looked in users and computer registry. It should be set in computers. I see it grayed out in IE but I dont see the sites listed in the registry.
Ok, which setting exactly did you use?
Was the GPO linked to a computer or an user object?

Computer. I used the setting "site to zone assigment list". I do see in the registry in "zone" there are reg_dword. Maybe these translate into the actual url's?
