Arduino

Well my dad has recently bought our Arduino. Yesterday I was exploring the environment I found how to save , open and open the serial monitor.

My problem is that every time I try to upload a project, an exception occurs "programmer didn't respond the command"
I've tried this for about 100-150 times but it doesn't get any better. What should I do?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

One very common reason for this issue is that the target Arduino type may not be set correctly in the software.  There are many different types of Arduino, and you have to have the right one set or all the software does is whine.

... and don't forget to set the programmer type as well.  Further, once the programmer type is set, be sure that it's configured for the proper port.
