"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can use Hyena to do this a variety of ways.  The easiest method, assuming you have a simple structured way to identify exactly what you want to set the UPN to, would be to use the Active Editor, which has a search and replace feature.  Or, you can import from an external file using either the Active Editor's import feature, or using the Active Task feature.  These methods require you to have something to match against between AD and your file, but the search/replace function or setting the UPN to something based on existing fields, ie First_Name + Last_Name @somedomain.com is easily done in Hyena.
use "bulk ad users" from wisesoft and "csv update" feature of that tool allows you to bulk modify UPN for accounts

Tool is freeware and works great

Else you can do saved query in AD for all user accounts, select all accounts, go to properties and update UPN on account page, it will update for all users

You can just use this PowerShell script to copy the mail attribute to the UPN attribute
