web-server & email server ip address

I currently host my company's web-server & email server. (popswine.com)

I would like to move the web-server to another IP address and retain my current ip address for the email server.

Is this possible?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

As with everything you fully own/administer, yes it's possible. Adjust a few DNS settings and you're good to go.

Sure.  This is good security practice because it minimizes the potential damage if either one of those functions should be compromised.  Penetrate the web server, the email server is still intact.  And the other way around as well.

Set the DNS for the webserver to the new address and don't touch the DNS setting for the email server.  It can take up to 24 hours for the DNS change to percolate through all DNS servers worldwide, but typically within the US it's complete within an hour or so.

@nickpoulos
You can do that.
You have to update the MX record and the A records which is used for webserver.
i.e. MX record will point to your webserver IP. Update your A records (common name) of the email server to the IP of webserver.
I hope you are aware of changes to be done in firewall as well.
Consider webserver IP is 123.123.123.123
You have to NAT external to internal on the firewall which translates 123.123.123.123 to your internal IP of email server.
