Does Microsoft keep license keys for Office 2010?

Recently had a HD failure and cannot find my copy of Office Pro 2010. Will upgrade to Office 365 in about 2-3 months when a project pays out. Currently need to get back some of my files and wondered if anyone knew if Microsoft keeps licenses stored on a server somewhere like it did with my Windows 10 upgrade. I think I found a way to download the iso file but cannot find a product key code. Not trying to be deviant just need to get back to square one. Any thoughts or knowledge are appreciated. Thank you.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

No. They have their own file of keys to prevent overuse (more use than licenses) and piracy but that does not service users.

You need the key from your invoice or other source.

When you activate Office 2010 the first time, did you register with Microsoft? As in provide your name and address details etc? If so, then yes it may be possible and I'd suggest the following;

Go here:

One the above page, scroll down and use the "Connect with an expert" link for a live chat.

If you didn't register then there won't be any hope of Microsoft giving you your key.

Hope that's helpful.

You guys are both right. I think there is no hope for the recovery of the license. I think I am out of luck on this one. I will just save up and get the Pro Plus version of Office 365 if that is what it is called. Thank you.
