autofilter enabled table in word, possible embed an xlsx worksheet

is it possible to embed a spreadsheet in a word document so it appears as an actual spreadsheet and users can use autofilter on the data as the would in a traditional xlsx file. I don't just want a file embedded as a separate file that loads on its own, more a table that they can use auto-filter on the data as you can in excel. whether that is a feature of a word table somehow or you can truly embed a worksheet in a docx I am not sure.

I don't think there is a way to do it natively. But I did find an add-in that was created by Christopher Rath that claims to do just that. Though it uses VBA to accomplish this and only works in Word 2010 or higher. You can find it here: Autofilter Add-in
